It was so windy that day, it was the officially the last day of Cherry Blossom since after that wind gust nothing was left in the trees. It was an astonishing scenery!

Today me and my friends from Montreal, Ika & Jess, went biking and rollerblading around the Kanda Gawa and Nakano residential area. We brought two camera, the wide angle shoots are film with my Tokina 11-16 hook on the D90 and all the rest are from their KODAK Zi8 pocket cam. All the editing was done by Ika, and I have to say he did a fawking good job! They are here only for a few more days and you should go check out their blog about their trip in Tokyo if you haven’t done so yet.

I took those shoot earlier last week so the Sakura were not in full bloom. I might go out again Tomorrow and re-shoot those HDR if I have time. Still I like the result, I think the sky turn out great.

Today the flowers in the sakura trees started to lose their petals. Even if it kinda sad that in a few days they will be all gone, it was a beautiful scenery to witness. The petals were falling on the ground like snow in the winter. A lot of people were walking outside to enjoy the last few moments of hanami.

My friends Esse & Ika made a really cool video of them rollerblading from Nakano station to our house in Shinjuku, short, sweet, smooth, it definitely worth it! Go check out their blog for more photos and video of their trip in Tokyo.

Well that was all the photos I took from the snowfall, I don’t know if there will be any more snow this year, it was still pretty cold today.

I really like the result of those long exposure night shots, I have more coming tomorrow. Let me know what you think!

It was the first snow fall of the year tonight and I went outside to freeze my ass and grab a few pics before it all melt tomorrow morning. I will post more during the next few day.

Theses guy were pretty good, I’ve talk with them a little bit before taking the shoot and they told me they didn’t sleep all night and the only thing that could keep them awake was to play music! They also told me they like Nirvana, NoFx and OffSpring, brought back some high school memories just to hear these names.

Looks like this cat just had a delicious mouse or something!

Ok so seriously, this is my first attempt at tilt shift without buying the actual lens, what do you think?

I don’t think I will shoot HDR at night when there is cloud anymore, they have a very weird effects on long exposure Shoots. What do you guys think? Do you like the super dramatic effect they have on the photos?

Influenced by the positive feedback I got from the my “view from my roof” photos, I decided to bring my camera and tripod to the residential streets of Nakano, my neighborhood. There, I tried to capture the feel of Tokyo’s small streets. If you come from North America you would be inclined to think that they look more like alleyways rather than streets, but that’s what I love about them. Every house is unique, people leave their potted plants outside, their bicycles unlocked and they let their laundry hang out everywhere. Nowhere in the world have i ever even such respect for other people’s belongings.

The last few leafs are holding up, kinda sad. But at least it not snowing like in my hometown!
