Himeji Castle is a flatland-mountain Japanese castle complex located in Himeji in Hyōgo Prefecture and comprising 83wooden buildings. It is occasionally known as Hakurojō or Shirasagijō (“White Heron Castle”) because of its brilliant white exterior.

It was registered as the first Japanese National Cultural Treasure by UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Japanese National Cultural Treasurein December, 1993. Along with Matsumoto Castle and Kumamoto Castle, it is one of Japan’s “Three Famous Castles”, and is the most visited castle in Japan.    -wikipedia

    Thanks for your comment! Yeah I thought it was oranges too, but it actually called 伊予柑 (iyokan)
    I think it more sour than oranges, and they actually harvest them during winter. I was so surprise when I saw this right in the middle of december since I come from a country where not a single blade of grass survive during the winter!

    How is the construction going there? I heard that they were going to start renovating the castle and cover most things up. I've never been to Himeji, but would like to go!

    Well I dont know if they are almost done or they just started, but it was only one or two small house that was being renovated while I was there. I really think it worth a visit at least once!
