Sugamo (巣鴨) is a neighborhood in Toshima, it is also known as “Obachan Harajuku” or “Old people harajuku”. You can find all sorts of clothing shops for the elderly of course, but also small stores that hold tea, dried snack, pickle veggies, flowers and all sorts of stuff your grand ma’ would like ( if she’s japanese )

How come some empty billboard space with a graffiti on it is lit like this? Shoot in Aoyama.

Calpis is my favorite none-alcoholic drink in Japan. It available in any combini, but the super size can can only be found in a few vending machine, if you are lucky sometime it only 100yens. Every now and then the company release a new flavor, but the best is by far the original one ( calpis water ) If you might be able to find some in your city’s china town, often go by the name ” Calpico ” but it the exact same thing.

I was walking on omotesando the other day, and I saw a cat on some kind of small pillar. There wasn’t anyone around it when I first saw it, but it only took a minute before a crowd of ladys gather around it to take some photos.

The poor cat seemed very confuse and people started to wonder to whom it belong to.

Eventually the police arrived and told some odd guy to take his cat and leave, so I guess he was the owner of the small kitten. That just crazy japan for you ^_^

Yesterday was over 34˚c and I’ve spend the afternoon in Yoyogi park drinking ice tea and playing DS. I saw many people walking their dog, I even saw a crazy lady walking her cat in a baby stroller. But it was the first time I saw someone bring a turtle to the park and made it walk for 2-3 meter, you know just to stay heathy. I have to admit, I found the little creature pretty cute, now I want a turtle!

Almost two weeks ago took place the Tokyo Girls Award 2010 in Yoyogi Gym Stadium in Harajuku. The event was much bigger than I thought and was a lot of fun. I went there as part of the media team, since I was covering the event for apparel-web inc. and XOjapan.jp .

Sorry it been a while since I posted some photos, I was very busy with work and personal life. These shoots ware taken about 2 weeks ago in Harajuku for the Street Snap section of XOJapan.

After the shooting session, me and Akiko walk a little bit around Harajuku and ended up at that shrine where there was a tree  already full of small pink flower. She stop to take a photo of her own, so for once she would be behind the camera ^_^

Working with Akiko was so much fun, she’s gorgeous, dynamic and very professional. We spend most of the day shooting in Harajuku and Yoyogi park. It was a little bit cold, so I was holding her coat at the same time I was taking most of the shoots, I’m such a nice gentlemen ね! You should definitely check out her site and also add her on twitter !

So guys don’t be late! I took those photos while waiting for my model this sunday just outside, much more fun than pretending to send message on my mobile.

I love when all the mechanic is exposed like this, looks a bit steam-punkish. I talk with the guy a little bit, told me he loves his bike more than his wife, I hope she doesn’t read this… oups.

Those are some pretty scary birds, I dare you to go sit there!

I saw her waiting for a friend just outside Harajuku station, and the background was so much in contrast, I had to ask her if I could take a photo!

Aoyama is a handful of small streets in Harajuku following the Omotesendo. It full of small and expensives clothing stores, hair salons and designer shops. It was pretty quiet when I went there this week-end, compared to the sea of people that was walking on the omotesendo just next to it!
